Recently, Elon Musk announced new policies regarding users of the paid-for Twitter Blue service, announcing that poll creations/voting and “recommendations” will be a privilege for Twitter Blue users.
Yes. Starting on April 15, regular Twitter users will no longer receive recommendations or be allowed to create polls or vote in polls.
I have a feeling that eventually, Elon Musk will change the policy to state that a paid subscription will be made mandatory for all Twitter users, and users who refuse to pay a subscription fee – and users, paid and non-paid, who publicly criticize the policy – will be subject to permanent suspensions based on phone numbers, MAC addresses, and IP addresses.
Couple this with the new RESTRICT Act – aka the “Tik Tok Bill” – which will make use of VPNs a federal offense with up to 20 years in prison, it will be harder to ban evade on Twitter than it was before he bought the company.
And if this results in Twitter making a lot of money and proves to be popular (this would not surprise me, given the lack of rational thought of the average American dumbfuck), then other social media services will take a cue and force people to pay subscription fees for the privilege of “checking in” on Facebook or uploading some stupid ASMR fetish video on YouTube.
