Product review: JoGo Coffee Straw

Are you a coffee lover like me?

I love coffee, and not just because of the health benefits. I love the smell of coffee as it’s making. I love how the caffeine content alleviates my grogginess when I wake from a restful sleep.

However, today’s coffee habit is becoming expensive with rising inflation rates. A couple weeks ago, I bought a can of generic coffee at Kroger for nearly $9.50. When you also factor in the cost of coffee filters, it adds up to an expensive habit.

In addition, today’s electric coffee makers are now made in China with subpar electronic components as well as Chinese slave labor.

Is there a way to make coffee without using a coffee pot and coffee filters and not worrying about wasting unused coffee?

There is. It’s called cowboy coffee.

Cowboy coffee is a detailed brewing process where you add coffee grounds to a pot or kettle with boiling water. The hot water boils away the acidic content of coffee. However, to ensure that you don’t get coffee grounds in your mouth, you hair to pour some cold water into the pot or kettle which causes the coffee grounds to sink to the bottom.

Unfortunately, there are some people who cannot master making cowboy coffee without getting coffee grounds in their mouth. Is there a simpler way to make cowboy coffee without the worry of getting a mouthful of grounds?

Yes there is!! It’s called the JoGo coffee brewing straw.

The JoGo makes making cowboy coffee as simple as putting coffee grounds in a coffee cup, pouring hot water into your cup, using the JoGo to stir the contents together, let it sit for four minutes to brew, and then sip the delicious cup of joe through the tip.

So how does the JoGo work?

On the bottom of the JoGo is a micromesh filter which prevents the finest ground coffee from being sectioned in. You just sip the coffee as you would sip any other beverage with a straw. The end result is coffee which is very smooth to the taste.

Because the coffee is being sectioned directly into your mouth and does not touch your teeth, you won’t have to worry about your teeth getting stained from the traditional way of drinking coffee.

In addition, with the JoGo, you are making individual servings of coffee. This results in less waste, as you are using less water, less coffee grounds, and zero paper filters which end up in the trash. You can even control the strength of your coffee. Want a stronger cup? Just add more grounds and let it steep longer.

Cleanup is a breeze. You just rinse your coffee cup out and let the grounds go down the drain. The silicone straw tip can be removed and cleaned. The micromesh coffee filter can be unscrewed and washed and rinsed with just hot water, and the actual straw can be flushed out in the sink with hot water.

I’m an avid camper, and I take my JoGo every time I go. All I do is heat my water in my camp kettle on top of my NatureHike portable wood burning stove, put mu grounds in my cup, pour the hot water, stir it with my JoGo, let it brew for at least four minutes, and then sip. Using the JoGo helps me save on precious water resources as I don’t have to pour cold water into a kettle of cowboy coffee just to sink the grounds to the bottom.

The JoGo is also a great way to enjoy loose leaf tea more economically. You use less water and less tea leaves. This makes it easier to keep an adequate supply of tea leaves and reduces the amount of time and money needed to go shopping for tea leaves which can be quite expensive.

The JoGo has turned into an economical, efficient, and fun way to continue my love of coffee. I highly recommend this product! 5/5
