Years ago on my old DC Infowarrior blog, I spent countless hours actively researching the Center for Science in the Public Interest, and back then I found nothing but hypocrisy.
Do you remember how they championed the removal of trans fats? Do you remember how the mainstream media called CSPI the “experts” on trans fat awareness?
They left out a convenient fact – in the 1980s, CSPI was the most vocal defender of trans fats.
From the March 1988 edition of the Nutrition Actiom HealthLetter article titled The Truth About Trans: Hydrogenated Oils Aren’t Guilty as Charged:
“All told, the charges against trans fat just don’t stand up. And by extension, hydrogenated oils seem relatively innocent.”1
One of the first people to expose CSPI’s hypocritical bullshit was the late Mary G. Enig of the Weston A. Price Foundation:
“In 1988, CSPI published a booklet called Saturated Fat Attack, which defended trans fatty acids and partially hydrogenated vegetable oils and called for pejorative labeling of “saturated” fats. The booklet contained a section called “Biochemistry 101,” which claimed that only tropical oils were dangerous when hydrogenated. “Hydrogenated (or partially hydrogenated) fats are widely used in foods and cause untold consternation among consumers. . . [they] start out as plain old liquid vegetable oils (usually soybean), which are then reacted with hydrogen. . . converting much of the polyunsaturated fatty acids to monounsaturated fatty acids. . . [with]. . . small amounts. . . converted to saturated fatty acids. . . [e.g.], stearic acid, which seems to have no effect on blood cholesterol levels.”2
For many years on their “Food Additives” section of their Chemical Cuisine, both aspartame (Equal) and sucralose (Splenda) were listed as “Safe”.(For what it’s worth, CSPI has three categories for additives and chemicals: Safe, Caution, and Avoid)
Then over the years, they gradually changed the classification of both aspartame and sucralose to “Caution” then “Avoid”.
Years ago, you could look up archived copies of the Food Additives page to see the original ratings of aspartame and sucralose, dating back to the mid-2000s.
Now? You can find no archived copies of that page past 2024.
So why is CSPI – and the deep state – so desperate to erase all the evidence?
Because Robert F. Kenedy, Jr. is now the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Resources – which oversees the FDA.
Did you know CSPI’s current executive director Peter Lurie is a former deputy commissioner of the FDA?
Is Peter Lurie so scared about possibly going to federal prison for crimes against humanity that he may have personally ordered the Internet Archive to erase the evidence?
